Greetings!

Welcome to the official website of the Nassau Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.  The ladies of Nassau Alumnae Chapter (NAC) are honored to welcome you and thank you for visiting our virtual home.

In 1913, twenty-two visionary women founded Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, a not-for-profit organization of college-educated women committed to the constructive development of its members and to public service, with a primary focus on the Black community. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated currently boasts a membership of more than 300,000 women in over 1,000 chapters across the United States and abroad.

The women in this organization exemplify dedication to an extensive array of public service programs with a specific focus on five areas: educational development, economic development, international awareness and involvement, political awareness and involvement, and physical & mental health

Since the chartering of NAC by sixteen visionary women on April 20, 1963, our members have worked relentlessly towards enhancing the lives of adults and children in the Nassau County communities through education, engagement, and activism.  Our membership currently consists of over 180 women of various ages, diverse backgrounds, and distinguished professions, who take great pride in leveraging our collective strengths to serve the community at large. With support from community members like you, NAC has raised and distributed over $400,000 in scholarships to deserving youth over the last 40 years. Some of our annual signature programs include our Back-to-School Backpack Drive, Pocketbook Bingo, Historically Black College Tour, Sisters in the Spirit Prayer Breakfast, and Small Business Crawl. In addition to these signature programs, we facilitate impactful initiatives such as voter registration drives, candidate forums, and financial literacy workshops.

We are also proud to sponsor youth development initiatives, such as the Delta GEMS, a mentoring program to educate and empower young girls ages 14-18, and EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence), which provides innovative programming and mentoring for boys ages 12-18.

We invite you to explore our website regularly to familiarize yourself with who we are and the myriad of programs we offer. We especially hope you will take every opportunity to partner with us on future community building endeavors.

Please follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and subscribe to our newsletter and email distribution list to stay abreast of our events and local happenings in Nassau County.

If you are a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., we would love for you to visit us at a chapter meeting or to join us at one of our upcoming events. We look forward to welcoming you and making you feel right at home!
