Our 22 dynamic founders participated in the Suffrage March of 1913, just two months after Delta Sigma Theta was established. This commitment to service through Social Action has remained, keeping the sorority at the forefront of social and political issues for our communities. The chapter remains committed to protecting voting rights, influencing policy, and empowering communities through informed participation.

Voter Registration & Meet the Candidate Forums

Voter Registration Drives and Candidate Forums promote civic participation and informed voting. These events ensure community members have access to accurate, nonpartisan information.

Town Hall Meetings & Community Forums

Town Halls provide direct engagement with elected officials and community leaders. These discussions create space for advocacy, accountability, and collaborative problem-solving.

Social Action Theatre & Woke Wednesday Live

Interactive programming such as Social Action Theatre and Woke Wednesday Live fosters awareness of pressing social issues. These platforms encourage dialogue, education, and meaningful engagement.

MLK Day of Service

The MLK Day of Service honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy through community-centered volunteerism. Members engage in service projects that promote equity and justice.

Delta Days at Government Offices

Delta Days create opportunities for direct advocacy with local and county leadership. These engagements strengthen relationships with policymakers and ensure community voices are represented. Offices including: County Executive’s Office, Police Commissioner’s Office, at the Sheriff’s Office, District Attorney’s Office, Town Supervisor’s Office and School Board Meetings

Social Action Symposium

The Social Action Symposium addresses key legislative and social issues impacting our communities. Through expert panels and educational sessions, participants are equipped to advocate effectively.
