CHAPTER HISTORY

OUR VISION
WHO WE ARE
OUR COMMUNITY
CHARTERING 1963

The idea for a graduate chapter in Nassau County was conceived by Soror Louise Bradley Hughes.  The early planning stages for a graduate chapter began in 1962.  The necessary permission and paperwork was granted by the National Board of Standards to organize a chapter in Nassau County.  16 members living in Nassau County answered the call to establish the new chapter. Nassau Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated was chartered in Roslyn Heights, New York on April 20, 1963.  The 16 charter members represented a cross-section of women pledged to uphold Delta’s Principles throughout Nassau County.  Dr. Jeanne L. Noble, 12th National President presided over this memorable establishment.

We currently have over 180 members in our chapter from a diverse group of professional backgrounds who represent Nassau Alumnae Chapter and the community of Nassau County.
